Pearce satisfied after England U21 held in Lithuania

England U21 boss Stuart Pearce was satisfied with their 0-0 draw at Euro qualifying opponents Lithuania.

This stalemate means that England will have to defeat Greece next March if they are to have any chance of qualifying automatically for Denmark in 2011 and therefore avoid the lottery of the play-offs.

Pearce said: "Lithuania are a very stout defensive unit. They are difficult to break down - and we are not the only ones to find that in this group.

"We have not taken our chances and we have got to win our three matches to win the group now. We have the capabilities to do so.

"It's difficult to qualify for this tournament outright. Just by dropping two away points, we have now put ourselves under pressure."
