Peace confident of keeping West Brom squad together

West Brom chairman Jeremy Peace is confident of keeping the squad together, no matter what happens at the end of the season.

He stressed that the club's financial outlay has been carefully planned so there will be no fire-sale of players in the summer - regardless of how the season pans out.

"The Championship is tough in its own way - it is an extremely difficult league to get out of," Peace told the WBA website.

"Therefore, when you get promoted, you have to do everything you can to stay up.

"We spent a lot of money last summer - £23million on initial transfer fees while our player wage bill is around £25m. Both are club records.

"That totals £48m - approximately our current income this year.

"Having said that, we have been able to spread our outlay on transfers across the next couple of years so we will remain on a relatively sound financial footing."
