Patrick Bamford backed to stay with Leeds

Patrick Bamford is being backed to stay with Leeds United.

Bamford is out of contract next summer, but could still be rewarded with a new deal given the form he has shown in the Premier League.

Speaking to Optus Sport, former Chelsea midfielder Steve Sidwell said: “He brings work rate and goals combined – he is any manager's dream.

"Who knows what levels he can go to. He's got great people around him and his feet on the ground, but he's got the all the assets to go on and do well."

Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend added: “I don't think he will want to go anywhere.

"He's been and done the rounds. He's settled down and finally got the manager who appreciates his game and gets the best out of him.

"If clubs do come calling, I don't think it would faze him one bit."
