Liverpool chief Ricky Parry marked his departure from Anfield with a lap of Silverstone.

The Daily Mail says Parry, a keen F1 fan, gave his club car - an Audi R8 with a top speed of 180mph - a last blast down to Silverstone for the British Grand Prix before he has to return it.

Also leaving the Liverpool board is former owner David Moores, who owns three classic Ferraris. Not that Moores or Parry will be missed in board meetings as owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett haven't held one since they took charge.
