Parr happy to be back for Palace despite defeat

Jonathan Parr was pleased to be back for Crystal Palace in defeat to Newcastle United.

Parr came off the bench for his first appearance in eight months.

Parr, who gave away the penalty for a trip on Shola Ameobi, said: "I'm really happy to be back. I feel it went all right. I think the penalty decision was a bit harsh. I don't think there's any contact.

"Other than that, I was controlled defensively and managed to get forward a little bit.

"All in all, I'm just pleased to get my debut in the Premier League and I hope I can push on from here.

"The manager told me just before half-time to start warming up and get ready because you're playing second half.

"Even though the weather was like this, the fans were amazing. They have been all season, even though we were struggling a bit today.

"We appreciate that and hopefully we can give them some more points in the next games."
