Baseball legend Mike Piazza's group has dropped their interest in Parma.
The Piazza consortium had been the last party interested in rescuing the relegated Serie A club. But the American, reports Corriere dello Sport, is walking away.
Parma, currently in administration, face demotion to Serie D.
The Ducali's first team squad now face being picked off, while the club's academy could also be dissolved.
The one hope for Parma is that the deadline to find a new buyer is extended beyond the end of the month.
