Cassano officially terminated his contract with Parma yesterday.
Parma has until February 16 to pay six months of outstanding wages and technically the players could already take legal action.
"There was this meeting with the players' union to explain how things are going," captain Lucarelli told TV Parma.
"No decision has been made yet. There was an exchange of views: first of all we just wanted to understand the situation and eventually see how we'd be protected if the worst came to the worst.
"I repeat, no decision has been made, but just a debate to see what can be done by the union if we should by some misfortune need their help."
