Parlour urges Arsenal to hand Saka new contract amid Liverpool interest

Arsenal legend Ray Parlour believes the club must work hard to secure youngster Bukayo Saka to a new contract.

The talented teenager has been excellent in the Premier League this season, and is one of the bright spots of an otherwise poor campaign.

There is speculation that he may not want to renew his contract amid interest from Liverpool and other Premier League clubs.

And Parlour thinks convincing the 18-year-old winger to stay is vital.

Speaking after the 4-0 win over Newcastle, Parlour told talkSPORT: "Saka was excellent again on the left-hand side, he had another really good game. I think he has to get tied down now on a new contract. I think they are trying to organise it at the moment.

"At the moment Arsenal are 10th in the table, which isn't good enough, but Lacazette's goal and how the players celebrated, they knew he needed that.

"There are a lot of changes that need to be made at Arsenal but there is a feel-good factor again."
