Parlour raps Liverpool boss Klopp for Atletico Madrid criticism

Arsenal hero Ray Parlour has hit out at Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp after criticising the tactics of Atletico Madrid last night.

Atletico won their Champions League round 16 tie 4-2 on aggregate after extra-time at Anfield on Wednesday night with the La Liga giants having set up defensively.

Parlour said on talkSPORT: “Little bit surprised that he had a little go at how they played, how did he think they were going to play?

“They ain't going to come out with open football at Anfield when you've got a 1-0 lead. You've got to sit off a little bit haven't you.

Liverpool had so many chances.

"They've got through. Some people will set up their teams differently with different situations.

“Maybe at home they were a bit more expansive, went forward a little bit more.

“Away from home, Diego Simeone has always set his teams up like that. Hard to beat, get everyone behind the ball.

“I know they've got good quality as well, but they got the job done.

Liverpool should have gone through, I mean the chances they had…"
