Cardiff City face relegation after defeat at Fulham.
Ryan Babel scored his third goal in four matches with a scorching curler from 25 yards to secure a 1-0 victory and leave City's plight looking increasingly bleak.
Fulham's run of decent form under caretaker boss Scott Parker has come too late to save them, and Babel's thunderbolt may well have helped drag Cardiff back down with them.
“I think we put a lot of work in, in a short period of time," Parker said. “Ultimately the team have been first class.
“At times we probably overload them with information and try to set standards and a mentality about us which Fulham fans want to see, which is a fight and a desire, and certainly that's what I want to see.
“I feel certainly at this moment in time the team are representing everyone at the Club and they're doing themselves a good representation as well.
“Like I said, it comes from hard work and determination, being receptive to the information they are getting, and that hard work has been proven in the last three wins and three clean sheets. It's paying off."
