Park Ji-sung accepts losing the QPR captaincy.
Park made his first start in nearly three months in the FA Cup draw with West Brom - although it was Clint Hill leading the team out.
But former Manchester United midfielder Park's only aim is keeping them in the top flight.
He said: "I respect the manager's decision and I don't really care about that.
"I am an experienced player so I can help the team with or without the armband."
Park has recovered from a knee injury and the 31-year-old added: "I'm happy to be back playing again.
"Last week we won against Chelsea and we had to keep our momentum and not lose the game.
"After the game I had no pain so I am really happy."
