Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that the 'world's best goalkeeper' Julian Speroni is still short of making the squad for the weekend's game against Chelsea.

In his pre-match conference, Pardew confirmed that Alex McCarthy will remain in goal, despite Speroni returning to full fitness following a hand injury.

"Jules is the best goalie in the world in my opinion, but he ain't in the team yet," said Pardew. "Alex will play on Saturday."
