Pardew eyeing mid-table finish for Crystal Palace

Alan Pardew suggests Crystal Palace need to be looking at the middle of the Premier League table rather than the bottom five or six.

The Eagles grabbed a valuable point following Sunday's 1-1 draw at Arsenal which sees them sitting 16th on the table after 34 matches.

Palace have recorded 39 points to be nine points clear of the bottom three but the fact they are just two in arrears of 11th-placed Everton has Pardew feeling optimistic about the final stage of the campaign.

"It's going to be difficult for two of those teams below us to get 40 points," said Pardew after Yannick Bolasie had cancelled out Alexis Sanchez's first-half opener.

"I think we're a mid-table team. We need to prove that. I'll be disappointed if we finish lower than 15th."
