Pantelidis confident goals will come for Gold Coast United

Gold Coast United midfielder Steve Pantelidis is confident the club will start scoring regular goals soon.

United are currently sitting fourth on the table but it has been their ability to keep clean sheets that has seen them lose just once in 12 matches.

12 goals so far this season isn't a great statistic but Pantelidis is of firm belief that once the strikers, including Joel Porter, hit the target then things will start to change for the good.

"Joel's been looking dangerous and once he gets one he'll start hitting the net regularly," he told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

"He's only just back from injury still and is sharpening up his game. He wasn't feeling well before the Melbourne match but still put in a good shift (in a 1-0 win) and he'll be even better against Sydney (this weekend).

"He's itching to get on the score sheet and it won't be long now before he does.

"The good thing is we haven't been conceding and that gives us a base to build from."
