Pannu keen to improve Birmingham academy results - with Westley

Birmingham City vice-chairman Peter Pannu plans talks with academy chief Terry Westley about improvements.

Pannu says the new board are anxious about seeing more young players come through the Blues youth system.

"When it comes to bringing through our own players, I will sit down with Terry Westley to see where we are and assess the last three or four years," Pannu told the Birmingham Mail.

"I will look at how many players we have filtered through and if they have not made the first team, why not?

"Is it because they are the wrong sort of player, is it a communication problem? Is it because they have suffered when there's a change in manager and there is no continuity and they're left in limbo? There are a lot of things to discuss.

"Carson Yeung is very keen to improve our Academy and scouting departments; we need the right model in order that we can prosper in the future."
