Palmeiras midfielder Danilo admits taking English lessons as Arsenal chief Edu plans offer

Palmeiras midfielder Danilo admits he's taking English lessons.

Danilo is interesting Arsenal and an end of season offer is being prepared.

Gunners technical director Edu was heavily linked with his compatriot during the January window, with contact lodged with his representatives.

That ultimately led to nothing, but Arsenal have conducted a fresh consultation with an eye on making a bid at the end of the season.

And Danilo has admitted that told he has started taking English lessons.

Speaking to UOL Esporte, the Brazilian said: "“They told me: 'You'll have a good season and, when the time comes, you'll leave.

“'How are you going to talk, are you going to communicate with the coach?

“'How is he going to talk to you, how will you understand?"

“And I thought and said: 'Wow, that's right'. Then I started studying it."

Danilo has spent the last two seasons Palmeiras, winning back-to-back Copa Libertadores titles, before being named the third best player at the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this year, where his side were beaten finalists at the hands of Chelsea.

Still just 20, Danilo has been earmarked as a potential star of the future and Arsenal would likely need to bid more than £10million to acquire his services.
