Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira has urged fans and media to ease expectations around Endrick.
The Real Madrid-owned player will leave Palmeiras for Spain in 2024 when he turns 18.
After victory over Santos, Ferreira said, "I don't want to talk individually about players. Forgive me. The players here have to be very focused because, as you say, they idolise them for playing a good game is… Forget it. Forget it. Forget it.
"He has to keep working. He entered when the game was open. He came in when the game was already broken.
"We have to be patient. I already tell you. Patience. Endrick has to go to Disney too, he has to grow up and remain a child, he has to keep laughing!
"You do not have to create those expectations that at 16 years old, we expect them to score 10 goals. And then, with those expectations here... oh oh oh oh. And when he scores a goal… oh oh oh oh. They go from being very good to very bad, which is what works here."
