Palermo vice-president Guglielmo Micciche has welcomed the appointment of new sports director Pietro Lo Monaco.

He describes Lo Monaco as a genius in the transfer market.

"Lo Monaco is a great expert at signing players. At Udinese and Catania he produced some masterpieces - he discovered unbelievable talent and lead teams to exceptional levels.

"We expect him to be able to do the same thing at Palermo."
