Crystal Palace are locked in talks with Lille for fullback Pape Souare.

The Daily Star says Palace have made a £2.5m offer for Souare, 23, after a move for Roma's Ashley Cole failed to get off the ground.

Lille are understood to want £3m but they are strapped for cash and Palace are now trying to agree a cut price deal.
