"It was my first goal, it was a bit of relief, to be honest," he told the Croydon Advertiser.
"It was nice to get on the scoresheet and hopefully there is more to come. It just come on to my swinger so I just thought I'd take a chance and thankfully it's gone in.
"I was just pleased to be in the right area for it to go in. I'll continue to do that and try to make a difference on the pitch.
"My good mate said when we were mucking around said when I score my first goal for Palace, you have got to do a celebration, so I did it for a laugh.
"I didn't get any stick from the players, it's all good."
