Palace fans advised to be patient as transfer activity stalls

Crystal Palace number two Lennie Lawrence has moved to reassure fans that there will be movement on the transfer front soon, reports this is Croydon Today. With pre-season about to begin in earnest, the Eagles fans have only seen Brighton's Glenn Murray arrive at Selhurst Park.

Assistant manager Lawrence says that things will start moving next week, though.

Speaking while on holiday in Spain, Lawrence said: "Nothing concrete has happened yet, but negotiations are on-going on several fronts player-wise.

"I don't think anything's going to be pulled together this week, but after the weekend, when we're all back at the club, it's going to be manically busy.

"You never really have a holiday in football and I know one or two clubs are getting things done early, but we want to do things the right way and you will see some movement from us in the next couple of weeks."

So the message from the club is for fans to remain patient.

"Yes," he said. "Be patient, the fans have been fantastic since I have been here, so be patient we are working very hard behind the scenes.

"We need to get a couple of players in and we hope to do that in the next couple of weeks.

"Lots has been going on, we just haven't brought anything to a conclusion yet, but it has to be brought to a conclusion for out of contract players next week and the week after and that's when you will see some movement. There's always a massive flurry of activity at the end of June and the start of July and we will be involved."
