Palace boss Pulis frustrated shopping in bargain basement

Crystal Palace boss Tony Pulis is frustrated being forced to shop in the bargain basement this month.

The Daily Mail says having handed club co-owner Steve Parish and sporting director Iain Moody a list of targets which included Nikica Jelavic, Shane Long, Matthew Etherington and Peter Crouch, the Palace boss has been asked to look at cheaper alternatives.

The low wage budget is a big factor in the transfer failures. Wigan defender Ivan Ramis preferred Cardiff to Palace due to the money on offer, only to then fail a medical.

Pulis is also keen to make Jason Puncheon's move from Southampton permanent to free up another loan but the club have not done this either.
