Pablo Machin is delighted taking charge of Espanyol.
The former Girona coach succeeds David Gallego, who was sacked yesterday.
Machin said at his presentation: "Thank you for the confidence shown and for the love that I am already feeling in these hours and I will surely be reciprocal with the fans.
"I come to a historic club, at a time that is what it is. I have a great hope, but also a responsibility to leave it in the place it deserves.
"It is an exciting year, we are in three competitions, although never leaving aside LaLiga.
"What I can promise is maximum involvement, I will require the technical staff and the environment to do the same. I know for success we need that."
