New York Red Bulls have completed a trade with Montreal Impact which has seen them acquire Felipe Martins.
The 24-year old Brazilian midfielder joins the Red Bulls, along with top spot in the allocation order, in exchange for Ambroise Oyongo and Eric Alexander.
Felipe arrives at the Red Bull Arena after spending three seasons with the Impact and his capture was warmly welcomed by Red Bulls sporting director Curtis Ali.
"We feel that this trade puts us in a great position," Curtis said in a statement.
"Felipe gives us options going forward that will allow us to play the style of soccer that we want to play. He is the type of player that can make an impact immediately and be a part of our future.
"While we have a top target in mind, we are considering all options to make use of the top allocation spot."
Cameroonian full-back Oyongo leaves the Red Bull Arena after spending last season in New York while 26-year old midfielder Alexander departs after two seasons with the Red Bulls.
