Owner Delia Smith: Norwich have the best supporters in the world

Norwich City owner Delia Smith has praise the club's loyal fans following their return to the Premier League.

The Canaries defeated Middlesbrough 2-0 in the play-off final at Wembley on Monday to return to the top flight after a year back in the Championship.

After the triumph, the jubilant cook, TV presenter and football club owner beamed: "I'm feeling overjoyed and the day belongs to our supporters.

"They have been amazing all the time I have been a director, when we got relegated and went down to League One they still bought the tickets and we still sold out.

"They are just the best supporters in the world and I am so happy for them.

"Going through relegation (last season) was terrible and we also went through and did this and lost (the play-off final to Birmingham in 2002). Although we had a wonderful day it was painful losing so today has been extra special.

"I still can't believe it now."

Cameron Jerome and Nathan Redmond scored inside 15 minutes as the Canaries held out in a tense affair at English football's London headquarters.
