OSK keeper Jansson on Haksabanovic: He joined West Ham too young

Orebro goalkeeper Oscar Jansson isn't surprised seeing Sead Haksabanovic signed permanently by IFK Norrkoping.

The 21 year-old Montenegro international was signed permanently by IFK last week after over 18 months on-loan from West Ham United.

Haksabanovic, Sweden born and raised, joined the Irons in 2017 from Halmstads BK in a £2.7m deal, penning a five-year contract in the process. However, he never managed a competitive appearance for the Hammers, despite his promising reputation, and instead spent time away on-loan with Malaga in Spain and IFK.

Such was his impact with IFK last season that he was linked with Premier League giants Manchester United and Arsenal, but has decided to remain in Sweden for the new Allsvenskan season.

Jansson, like Haksabanovic, moved to England as a teen, signing for Tottenham and while he wouldn't change his own career decisions, admits he feels the attacker moved to West Ham too young.

He told Tribalfootball.com, "I think it was maybe too big of a step to sign for West Ham.

"I could almost tell straight away that he wouldn't play with the first team in the first year.

"If the manager chose to play him, I think he'd get boosted from that and play really well. But would he have the manager that believes enough in him?"

Haksabanovic's new deal with IFK runs to 2024.
