Osasuna announce Chimy Avila knee injury setback

Osasuna have announced Chimy Avila has ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his right knee.

It's a huge setback for the forward, who had only just recovered from rupturing the ACL in his left knee.

Avila will now have to undergo surgery and is expected to be out of action for another six to eight months.

"The club are sending him a message of support, with the full belief that he will get to play at El Sadar and in front of the Osasuna fans again," Osasuna said in a statement.

The Argentine has been one of the breakthrough players from the last couple of years in LaLiga Santander, impressing for both Huesca and Osasuna.
