Orlando City SC has traded Amobi Okugo to Sporting Kansas City in exchange for midfielder Servando Carrasco.
26-year-old Carrasco joins the Lions after spending the first part of the 2015 MLS season with SKC following stints with Seattle Sounders and Houston Dynamo.
24-year-old Okugo leaves Orlando after arriving from Philadelphia Union prior to the start of the current campaign. He made 15 appearances for the expansion club.
“First of all we want to thank Amobi for his contributions to the club in our inaugural MLS season and wish him nothing but the best in his career," said General Manager Paul McDonough.
“This trade is a win for all involved. We acquire a proven midfielder while creating some salary cap flexibility for future strategic player moves."
