Major League Soccer's (MLS) Orlando City SC are attempting to engage with their fans before they head off on holiday by opening a new themed restaurant and bar at Orlando International Airport, reports, www.sportspromedia.com/.

Located in the airport's pre-security main terminal, City Pub features gameday-inspired cuisine such as chili, pork tacos and a brisket burger, as well as décor dedicated to both Orlando City SC and their National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) affiliate Orlando Pride.

The pub is the first MLS and NWSL-themed restaurant and bar in a North American airport. Adorned in the club's signature purple, the venue is equipped with official soccer balls, team jerseys, scarves, soccer boots, soccer field shaped pendant lighting and artificial grass.

In addition, large televisions have been installed throughout City Pub along with an illuminated ticker feature in the centre of the restaurant which provides non-stop rotating updates on the latest soccer scores from around the world. Travellers can also buy official club merchandise at the venue.

City Pub was opened by Orlando City SC earlier this week alongside the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority and global restauranteur HMSHost, both of which collaborated with the club on the project.

"This is an exciting project we have been looking forward to opening with our great partners in one of the most travelled airports in the world," said Orlando City SC chief executive Alex Leitão.

"The energy and excitement for soccer continues to grow in Central Florida, and we want every person traveling through Orlando to get a taste of our soccer club, especially during a year where Orlando will be on full display as the host for the 2019 MLS All-Star and the home of world-class players ahead of this summer's Fifa Women's World Cup."
