The USL PRO champions will enter MLS next year and are looking at developing a very deep roster so they can mix it with the best teams in the USA and Canada.
Lions head coach Adrian Heath, who was busy casting an eye over the hopefuls at Seminole Soccer Complex, said it was a fantastic opportunity for young players to show their wares in a professional environment.
"This is like the ultimate reality show for some of these kids," he told the Orlando Sentinel.
"This is one of the few occasions that these 240 players will get professional eyes on them for three or four hours over a weekend."
Of the 240 that attended, Orlando City may not sign any but Heath had a clear message for all who came and gave their best in the two-day hitout.
"Keep the dream alive, fellas," he added.
