Western Sydney Wanderers midfielder Shinji Ono says his former Japan teammate Naohiro Takahara knows nothing of reported A-League interest.
It has been suggested recently that the former Hamburg, Eintracht Frankurt and Jubilo Iwata striker, currently with Tokyo Verdy, was a target for some A-League clubs.
But Ono suggested his fellow countryman hadn't heard anything from anybody in Australia regarding the speculation.
"I had contact with Taka two days ago and he didn't know about any news from here, it was a surprise for him," he said.
"If he comes for sure, I'd like to see him here."
