Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins admits he had offers from Tottenham and Leeds United while with Brentford.
Watkins struck in victory at Spurs last night.
He told the Super 6 podcast: "Leeds were interested in me, but they recruited Rodrigo. Tottenham were also interested in me. But they made it clear that if Harry Kane was in shape, then he would play. I had it in the back of my mind, but they said with the schedule and the Europa League, that there were many matches coming up.
"I had big decisions to make, but in the end I felt that I took the right thing. The coach (Dean Smith) was a big part in bringing me to the Villa. I had worked with him and had a close relationship with him at Brentford. Some of the guys used to say 'your dad wants you'."
