Oliver Kahn: I should've listened to Fergie and joined Man Utd

German legend Oliver Kahn admits some regret turning down a move to Manchester United.

The former Bayern Munich goalkeeper concedes he does regret not testing himself beyond the Bundesliga during his playing career.

Kahn told BILD: "Alex Ferguson is still angry with me today, he was convinced that I would transfer to Manchester United in 2003 or 2004.

"But shaping the era in Bavaria was more important to me.

"In retrospect, I think I should have done it then, and it would have been another fun and educational challenge for me."

Kahn also joked about the 1999 Champions League final.

"The final against United is stored with me as a victory, I have just cleared the last two minutes..."
