Oldham Athletic skipper Dean Furman is excited to be facing Liverpool and Steven Gerrard in the FA Cup.
Furman, 23, grew up admiring the England star and is set to face his idol for the first time on Friday.
"I saw he made his comeback the other day and I was very excited," Furman told the Sunday Mirror. "I'd much rather be facing him than not.
"I grew up a Chelsea fan but respected Liverpool and especially the likes of Gerrard and Michael Owen. As a midfielder I have tried to pick up points from his game and learn from him.
"He is just world class. You should never write Gerrard off.
"I want him to come back and have an impact - but I actually think I can spoil it for him and we can spoil it for Liverpool. We have nothing to lose and will be up for it at Anfield. Smaller teams have gone there before and upset them.""It's a one-off occasion and I see Gerrard, despite the press trying to write him off, still as one of the best midfielders in the world.
