Oldham Athletic fans set for Scholes protest today

Oldham Athletic fans are set to protest for today's match against Tranmere Rovers over Paul Scholes' resignation.

The Daily Mail says disgruntled Oldham fans are planning to protest against owner Abdallah Lemsagam in the wake of Paul Scholes's departure at Saturday's match with Tranmere Rovers.

Proposals have been drawn up which will see a march to Boundary Park along with disruption to the League Two clash followed by a mass walk-out and further protest outside the ground after the final whistle.

The event, named Stand up for Latics, comes amid serious concerns over the running of the club following Manchester United legend Scholes's hasty exit.

Oldham, founder members of the Premier League, were taken over by Lemsagam at the start of last year. They were relegated from League One last season and Scholes's replacement will be their fourth manager of this campaign.
