Old A-League foes face off in China today

The Chinese Super League kick off week 19 today with a full fixture of matches. Five Australian players plying their trade in the league will be playing against each other in important matches.

Former Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets midfielder Mark Milligan and Shanghai Shenhua will be looking to improve on seventh place when they host Shaanxi Chanba, who boast ex-Adelaide United central midfielder Jonas Salley.

Shaanxi have not won in five league matches and will be hoping for an improved showing in Shanghai as they labour in 14th place.

In Beijing, former Newcastle Jets star striker Joel Griffiths and brother Ryan will be fighting for Beijing Guoan against Chengdu Blades with Brendon Santalab, formerly of Sydney FC, hoping to score his second goal with the club after netting against Changchun Yatai on the weekend.

Beijing are currently second on the table, two points of league leaders Shandong Luneng whilst Chengdu are sitting 13th but are on the improve with three wins from their past four outings.
