Okazaki the star as Mainz account for Braunschweig

Shinji Okazaki scored his very first double in the Bundesliga as FSV Mainz beat Eintracht Braunschweig 2-0 on the weekend.

The 27-year old Japanese forward netted a goal in each half as Mainz moved to 11th on the table with their fourth win of the season.

Okazaki opened the scoring in the eighth minute when he got on the end of Junior Diaz's long ball to lob Braunschweig keeper Daniel Davari before adding a second an hour later with a neat finish on the counter.

The pair of goals took Okazaki's season tally to three in nine appearances for the O-Fives since his summer move from Stuttgart.
