Arsenal midfielder Martin Odegaard admits he's hoping for stability with his current loan move.
Just named Norway captain, Odegaard discussed joining Arsenal on-loan in January from Real Madrid in an online media conference to confirm his national team promotion. Norway coach Stale Solbakken announced Odegaard as new national team skipper last week. The midfielder succeeds Fulham attacker Stefan Johansen, who is currently on-loan with Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers.
During the media conference, Odegaard was asked about his decision to move to Arsenal after spending the first-half of the season with Real Madrid.
He was quoted by VG, saying: "I have said many times that I am looking for stability, but I did not find it.
"I think it will be important to find stability in the long run, but right now I am just focusing on ending the season here."
As for his impressions of the Gunners, Odegaard says he's enjoying his football. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has been eager to involve the Norwegian as much as possible.
Odegaard's deal with the Londoners runs to June and does not carry a permanent option.
Asked about his plans, Odegaard replied: "I'm very happy to be at Arsenal. I like it here. Beyond that, I have no more comments other than that I focus on ending the season, then we will see what happens after that."
So far this season, Odegaard has managed ten appearances for Arsenal.
