NYRB secure Luyindula, Kimura and Alexander to new deals

New York Red Bulls have announced that they have signed Peguy Luyindula, Kosuke Kimura and Eric Alexander to new contracts.

The 2013 MLS Supporters' Shield winners have managed to secure French forward Luyindula, key midfielder Alexander and Japanese defender Kimura much to the delight of sporting director Andy Roxburgh.

"Coming off of winning the MLS Supporters' Shield, we wanted to ensure that we maintained some continuity in our roster and all three players contributed to our success in 2013," he said.

25-year old Alexander was the star performer of the trio, making 36 appearances and scoring five goals, while 34-year old ex-Paris Saint-Germain striker Luyindula scored once in 24 outings. Kimura also managed 24 appearances during the Red Bulls' 2013 campaign which was cut short by the Houston Dynamo i-n the Conference semi-finals.
