NYRB's Cahill chuffed for fellow unbeaten Aussie Carney

New York Red Bulls star Tim Cahill was thrilled to see fellow Australian David Carney involved in another positive result for the club.

The Red Bulls retained top spot on the MLS standings with a 1-1 draw at Seattle Sounders on Sunday, extending their unbeaten run to five matches, of which left-back Carney has a key contributor.

Cahill was over the moon for the August signing who he feels has brought plenty of stability to the Red Bulls line-up.

"It's good. He's been positive. He gets forward, he's defensively brilliant, but he gives us another element with Johnny [Steele] attacking, crossing and causing problems," he said.

"Five games unbeaten for the Aussie lad coming in. I'm just proud of the team in general. Everyone put in a great shift. Honestly it was amazing to play here. We wish we could play in places like this every week."
