New York Red Bulls will go into this weekend's MLS clash with Montreal Impact without two key players.
Australian midfielder Tim Cahill will miss a few weeks with a hamstring strain while English defender Richard Eckerlsey could be sidelined for up to a month after injuring his ankle.
Both players were withdrawn from the weekend's 1-1 draw with Chivas USA and will certainly miss Saturday's home fixture with the Impact.
"I'd hope to have [Cahill] back in two weeks. But for now, it seems that he'll be out this weekend with a hamstring strain," said Red Bulls head coach Mike Petke.
"The conversations that I've had with the medical department is that it is not a tear."
As for Eckersley, who joined from Toronto FC in the off-season, his ankle was 'swollen like a baseball' and he is expected back by the end of April.
New York currently sits eighth on the Eastern Conference table with a record of three draws and one loss from their four MLS outings so far this season.
