NYRB keeper Coundoul returns uninjured after Senegal showing

Bouna Coundoul produced a magnificent performance in an African Cup of Nations qualifier for Senegal during the week.

The New York Red Bulls goalkeeper kept a clean sheet as the Lions of Teranga drew 0-0 with Cameroon in Garoua but some reports suggested that he was injured during the Group 5 contest.

But Coundoul has confirmed that he is fine, indicating he will be right to suit up for the Red Bulls against New England Revolution in MLS play this weekend.

"I played the whole 90 minutes and didn't get a scratch," Coundoul said on Wednesday. "So I don't know who came up with that.

"After the match, I was Man of the Match," Coundoul added. "People were saying that it was Cameroon vs. Bouna. But it was Cameroon vs. Senegal."

Senegal sit on top of their group, three points clear of DR Congo with two matches remaining in qualifying.
