NYCFC striker Castellanos in frame as Leeds delegation in New York

A Leeds United delegation including Victor Orta and Angus Kinnear have been spotted in New York City.

They were seen just a few miles away from NYCFC's stadium with transfer talks for Valentin Castellanos underway, says Leeds-Live.

The striker had been linked to Leeds in January after the 23-year-old has had a breakout 18 months - scoring 28 goals in 43 games in the MLS.

The Argentine also lead NYCFC to the MLS Cup last season, with a number of European clubs vying for his signature. And Leeds might now well be in talks with the American club, with Orta, Kinnear and Leeds director Massimo Marinelli at Quality Meats Steakhouse on Central Park – just five miles away from New York City's Yankee Stadium.

Castellanos has been compared to former Manchester United and City striker Carlos Tevez.
