German club FC Nuremberg have admitted their disappointment at not being able to sign Takashi Usami on loan.
The 19-year old attacker, who is on a season-long loan with Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich from J-League club Gamba Osaka, has attracted the interest of Nuremberg.
Usami was tipped to sign permanently with Bayern, which is when Nuremberg were going to make their move for a loan of their own, but the Japan youth international has no intention of staying at the Allianz Arena after making just one league appearance so far, quashing the hopes of the Frankenstadion outfit.
"We had been hoping he would decide to stay on with Bayern Munich, so that we could come in and agree a loan deal.""We will not publicly discuss our transfer planning. But it is a fact we have monitored Takashi Usami," Nuremberg general manager Martin Bader told BILD.
