Tottenham boss Nuno Espirito Santo thanked the club's supporters after a hard fought win over Aston Villa.

Spurs put an end to their run of poor form in the Premier League on Sunday, defeating Villa 2-1 at home.

The North London club were on a three game losing streak, but a second half Matt Targett own-goal secured all three points for Spurs.

"There were more goals in this game, the chances that we had to really kill the game, but the end was about being resilient and hold the ball there and not concede any chances to Villa," he said, whilst speaking in a post-match interview with BBC Sport.

"The support that they [the Tottenham fans] gave us today was huge.

"We are very thankful."
