Former Fiorentina striker Nuno Gomes is delighted seeing Rafael Leao fulfill his potential at AC Milan.

The striker has the Rossonero on the brink of Scudetto glory this week.

Gomes told La Gazzetta dello Sport: "Surprised by Leao's exploits? Not really. I've known him well since he was fifteen, I've always followed him in the Portuguese youth national teams.

"And he made a difference even then: he hit me immediately. I know perfectly well what he's capable of.

"If anything, this was the season of his international consecration, he was the man who decided many of the challenges. Because he is really like this: he can win games alone, with one stroke, an acceleration, with a flick of a phenomenon."
