Notts County keen to keep Celtic young gun McGregor

English League One club Notts County are determined to extend the loan of Celtic starlet Callum McGregor.

The 20-year old midfielder, who has scored 12 goals for County, has finished his initial five-month loan at Meadow Lane but Shaun Derry is keen to keep both he and Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish at the club past January.

"We're getting close on both now," said Notts manager Derry.

"Discussions have taken place, everybody knows where everyone stands and it's now up to a final decision from their clubs.

"They are enjoying their football. We've had this conversation two or three times.

"When you're a young player and you're enjoying your football and developing I can't see the importance of moving.

"I feel they are both at a good place, they are both absolutely adored by the fans as well as the players and staff and that's important for a young player."
