Nottingham Forest's loan signing of Danny Fox has forced them to drop their pursuit of Rangers defender Lee Wallace.
The Championship outfit had a £900,000 offer for 26-year old left-back Wallace turned down earlier this week and it was reported that perhaps Forest would return with a fresh offer.
But that is now unlikely after they brought in former Celtic full-back Fox from Southampton for the remainder of the season.
Fox joined the Hoops from Coventry City for around £1.5million in July 2009 but left for Burnley six months later prior to signing with the Saints in 2011.
