Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood out for season

Nottingham Forest striker Chris Wood's season is over due to a thigh injury.

The New Zealand international, who moved to Forest from Newcastle United in January, was injured earlier in March, but still reported for international duty - though never played.

Forest boss Steve Cooper said, "It's just something we have to deal with, we'll put our focus into the players who are available and who are training ready to play the next game and commit to them."

Meanwhile, Brennan Johnson has a groin issue. He was not part of the Wales squad, though manager Rob Page questioned his withdrawal last week.

Cooper said Johnson is "not back to full fitness".

Forward Taiwo Awoniyi, who has been out since January with a groin injury, and midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate, absent since November with a hamstring issue, have returned to full training.
