Championship club Nottingham Forest are close to finalising a deal for former Everton striker Apostolos Vellios, according to Sky Sports.

The report claims that Greek side Iraklis have accepted a £950,000 offer from Forrest.

The 24-year-old is said to be keen on a move, but will make a final decision only after returning from holiday.

The Greece international scored three goals in 22 games for the Toffees before departing for Belgian side Lierse in 2014.

Vellios joined Iraklis last summer and scored 11 league goals in 27 appearances for the Greek side.
